FSK Decoder - Pocsag Samples





The line on witch the FSK signal is taken to, is set up with the DET jumper. Which line has to be chosen, depends on the question where the software, which is used will expect the signal.

For DSR

For PD this can be the DSR or CTS line, depending on the setup in the PD.INI file. For WinFlex and PocFlex the data is expected on the DSR line.

For checking the hardware setup we recommend to test PocFlex first.

 


POCFLEX

Edit first the PD.INI file to perform the software setup:

The polarity can be setup using the Software, as shown above, or using the hardware with the jumper "DET inv".

Some transmitters are using normal and some are using inverted polarity, so check both to find out the correct setting.


Start PocFlex under DOS or under Windows in a fullscreen window.

The activity symbol in the upper left corner should start turning clockwise. (| / - \ | ...). At a signal/noise change, the turning speed should also change.

After this setup, just follow the instructions from the software manual.

 

PD 2.05

PD is working only on PURE DOS, not under Windows in a DOS Window.

Edit first the PD.INI file, to setup the software.

WinFlex

Chose in the hardware setup menu the serial port and the "2 Level FSK" Interface, NOT the "4 Level FSK"

There are several WinFlex versions. The version 1.00 is written for Win95 and is working excelent on Win95. All other versions are recompiled from other authors. In some ZIP archives a SLICER.VXD for Win98 is also included. But please note that in some zip files the slicer.vxd for Win98 is recompiled with a wrong ddk and is not working propperly.

Winflex is also using other system dll files that can be problem sources. So for example on one PC (with Win98) with a relative clean installation, WinFlex is working without problems. But on an other PC (also Win98) where a lot of software has been installed/deinstalled, WinFlex will not work. In such a case, we do recommend to rename the file c:\windows\system\serial.vxd into c:\windows\system\serial.old.
